"Turtle is a new novel by Gerard Beirne. It’s a sprawling, surreal allegory about a small town where the identical cycle of events recurs generation after generation, until a stranger slides into town and threatens to change everything. Beirne is an exciting addition to the Canadian literary scene."
Congratulations on your new book. Your statement on the book sounds like a wonderful metaphor for what happens in a family when just one member is brave enough to step out of their assigned role. We know the family (the small town) will change, even if they don't know it, but will they change the stranger? Will the stranger survive the town? I guess you never know until the end of the story. I’ll have to read it to find out.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are still writing. I love the cover art. Who did it?
